WASHINGTON – September 22, 2009 – The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars (TWC) was founded on the belief that the right experience can transform a student’s life and set them on a course of achievement, leadership, and civic responsibility. Today, TWC unveils a new brand that will draw on past successes and showcase the nonprofit’s idealism, insight, and discipline to make a difference in the lives of its students.
“From the day we were founded we have believed that college and university students are a powerful and accomplished force for good,” said Mike Smith, president of The Washington Center. “The new brand will showcase the successes and community involvement of The Washington Center’s students as they participate in the organization’s internships and academic programs.”
The first step in the rebranding effort is the launch of the redesigned Web site. The new site features a fresh logo which features The Washington Center’s name in a more prominent fashion, while representing the idea of unity through a silhouette of George Washington, to show that people come together in the name of education.
“In order to rebrand The Washington Center, we wanted to understand the needs of students who come from all over the country, to the network of 40,000 alumni, to the private organizations and government agencies that employ interns,” Smith added. “We also wanted to highlight The Washington Center’s continued dedication to offering students access to top-tier experiential education.”
The rest of the new branding initiative will debut in January 2010, with the addition of new navigational tools on the Web site to improve the application process for students and focus on The Washington Center’s media involvement. The Washington Center will also publish a brochure highlighting all the organization has to offer. It is packed with compelling images, stories, and testimonials that evoke the power of the experience students receive.
