The Washington Center Honors Valued Partners

Washington, D.C. – The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars, the area’s largest provider of academic internship and college seminar opportunities, will honor significant contributors for their organizational goals of professional achievement, civic engagement, and leadership at the annual Academic Affairs Awards Luncheon at The National Press Club on Monday, October 15, 2007.

“Each year, The Washington Center honors a group of individuals and organizations that have contributed significantly to the experience that our students have in our programs,” said Eugene J. Alpert, Ph.D., senior vice president of The Washington Center.

This year’s honorees are:

  • Faculty Leader of the Year: Dr. Nancy Cade, Pikeville College
  • Civic Education Leadership Award: Kevin Klose, National Public Radio
  • Faculty of the Year: Dr. Max Hilaire, Morgan State University
  • Private College of the Year: Stonehill College
  • Public University of the Year: University of Massachusetts Dartmouth
  • Campus Liaison of the Year: Dr. Ronnee Schreiber; San Diego State University
  • Agency Supervisor of the Year: Michael Messinger; Voice of America
  • Alumni Agency Supervisor of the Year: Brad A. Queisser; mCapitol Management
  • Nonprofit Agency of the Year: United Nations Foundation
  • Private Sector Agency of the Year: Management Dynamics
    Public Sector Agency of the Year: U.S. Coast Guard
  • Congressional Office of the Year: Rep. Michael Turner (R-OH 3rd)
  • Congressional Office of the Year: Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL 20th)

Early deadline range for Spring 2008 Semester, Winter and Spring Quarters and Postgraduate begins May 26, 2008. More information.

Deadline for Fall 2008 Washington, D.C.-London Internship Program is extended to May 30, 2008

Regular deadline for Fall Semester, Quarter and Postgraduate 2008 is June 13, 2008.

Competitive deadline for Spring 2008 Semester, Winter and Spring Quarters and Postgraduate is September 29, 2008.
