Chevron Diversity Scholarship Recipient Named for Spring Semester 2007

Washington, D.C. – The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars, in partnership with Chevron, announced Stephanie Allen as the spring 2007 recipient of the Chevron Diversity Scholarship.

Allen, a political science major, attends San Diego State University, and is part of the Congressional Leadership Program at The Washington Center. Allen earned a placement at Fleishman Hillard.

Chevron’s support of Washington Center programs has a storied history spanning more than 25 years.  In addition to unrestricted and event sponsorship, they have provided program support for our “Women as Leaders” seminar, Capitol Hill Breakfast Series, and the campaign convention seminar. Since 1995, Chevron has been supporting the Diversity Leaders Initiative, and more recently, has sponsored a symposium of energy and environment policy.

The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars is an independent, educational nonprofit founded in 1975. The Washington Center serves hundreds of colleges and universities in the United States and other countries by providing selected students challenging opportunities to develop professional and leadership skills, and civic awareness, in Washington, D.C., for academic credit.  The largest program of it kind with more than 60 full-time staff, The Washington Center has more than 35,000 alumni, who themselves have become leaders in numerous professions and nations around the world.

Early deadline range for Spring 2008 Semester, Winter and Spring Quarters and Postgraduate begins May 26, 2008. More information.

Deadline for Fall 2008 Washington, D.C.-London Internship Program is extended to May 30, 2008

Regular deadline for Fall Semester, Quarter and Postgraduate 2008 is June 13, 2008.

Competitive deadline for Spring 2008 Semester, Winter and Spring Quarters and Postgraduate is September 29, 2008.
