The Washington Center Honors Valued Partners
Washington, D.C., September 23, 2008 – The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars, the nation’s largest provider of academic internship and college seminar opportunities, honored significant contributors for their organizational goals of professional achievement, civic engagement, and leadership at the annual Academic Affairs Awards Luncheon at The National Press Club on Monday, September 22, 2008. “Each year The Washington Center honors a group of individuals and organizations that have contributed significantly to the experience that our students have in our programs,” said Eugene J. Alpert, Ph.D., senior vice president of The Washington Center. “As a result of their efforts, many students have gone on to careers in Washington, D.C. and in the realm of public service, including our congressional alumnus, Rep. The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars is an independent, nonprofit organization serving hundreds of colleges and universities in the United States and other countries by providing selected students challenging opportunities to work and learn in Washington, D.C. for academic credit.
